FAQs

Q: Do I need a portfolio to apply?
A: Not at all. Many of our students begin with curiosity, not a portfolio. The Pre-Foundation Intensive and Short Courses are designed to help you build one from scratch with mentor guidance.

Q: Is the Foundation Diploma recognised in the UK?
A: Yes. The programme is delivered by START at Woof Pack and is recognised by the University of Greater Manchester (UK) as equivalent to a UK Level 3 Foundation for progression to undergraduate study. Students who successfully complete the diploma and meet the required academic and English language standards will receive a guaranteed conditional offer for Year 1 entry into selected Art & Creative Technologies degree programmes at the University of Greater Manchester

Q: What language are courses taught in?
A: All programmes are conducted in English, with bilingual support available where needed. Our mentors are used to teaching international and Thai students together in an open, conversational environment.

Q: Will you help me with university applications?
A: Absolutely. Every Foundation and Portfolio Tutoring student receives personal support with university selection, statements, interviews, and digital portfolio presentation. Many continue on to top UK and global art schools.

Q: When should I apply?
A: Intakes open twice a year — January and August — but places are limited to keep classes small. Early registration ensures access to your preferred start date and mentor group.

Q: Can I visit START before applying?
A: Yes — and we encourage it. You can book a free portfolio review or consultation to tour START Lab, meet tutors, and discuss which course suits your goals.
